Happiest Baby Workshop

The Happiest Baby on the Block Workshops are designed for expecting parents or parents with newborn babies from the Curriculum brought forth by Dr Harvey Karp, pediatrician and leading-edge child-development expert.

Dr Karp's "methods" came about when he experienced 1st-hand just how many parents in the Western world were finding it hard to connect with and calm their babies. He became fascinated by the profound differences between the dynamic brain of a 3-month-old baby and the immature, almost fetal brain of a newborn. After he learned that the babies of many cultures outside of the Western world simply do not experience "colic" and did not find it as challenging to connect with their babies!

Dr Karp then studied the topic intensely and combined research and findings from ancient cultures with modern research and observations he has made while caring for over 5,000 babies.

This workshop will include the following topics:

The missing 4th Trimester

The Calming Reflex

The Famous 5S's

After this workshop, participants will be able to:

Understand why parents in the Western civilization find it so hard to connect with their babies

Understand what colic is and what it is not

Be confident in skills to comfort, calm and bond with their newborn babies

Help their babies sleep better

Understand the function of crying in a Newborn

Understand how the calming reflex work and how to apply it step by step

Understand why it is impossible to spoil a new born baby!

Understand why fathers are great baby calmers!
